Electing Mary K Petlichkoff

We know we will be welcoming new members with fresh input next January, which is important. But retaining institutional knowledge to build upon, along with experienced, and tested leadership is equally important.

With sixteen years of board service, and a perspective reflecting the more seasoned citizen that continues to have a vested interest in public education, I can provide a vision and balance for the district’s direction. During these transitional times we need a strong, committed team serving our students, and helping our community move forward.

Having served three terms, I understand the role of a board trustee, as well as the many regulations and laws we must work with. With two newly hired top administrators at both Dearborn Public Schools and Henry Ford College, along with crucial infrastructure bonds, this knowledge is essential. I have contributed to maintaining balanced budgets, growing “rainy day” fund balances, and developing policies and educational programs that support student success across the district.

I have demonstrated sound, proactive judgement, and am asking that you re-elect me so I can continue to help guide us with a steady hand. Experience matters!

My Mission

  • Major Infrastructure improvements for both Dearborn Public Schools and Henry Ford College

  • Increase student enrollment and graduation rates at both Dearborn Public Schools and Henry Ford College

  • Improve student proficiencies across all subject matter and grade level

  • Continue to evaluate and develop programs designed for student success in and after completing their education pathway
